Last post for 2017 :(

Term 4 Week 9 News

Writing – we made cards for our buddies and families. Also we wrote about Santa in Australia in summer and what he should wear.

Spelling – Christmas words.

Maths – Problem solving activities were fun but challenging. We also made a paper chain that measured 1 metre. Many children made it longer during activity or at home.

We have all learnt to sign and sing We wish you a merry Christmas. Hopefully your child will sing it to you over Christmas and teach you the sign language too!

Enjoy the holiday season with your family. Thanks again for the great support throughout 2017. Please pop into room 12 and say hi to me in 2018.

Room 12!!

We are now in room 12 for the rest of the week. The children were so helpful and patient today with the moving. They were keen to move things into our new room. They were also able to sit and work quietly whilst boxes were packed and furniture was moved around them. What a delightful group of children! I will miss them all next year.

 As well as moving today we also ;

  • made cards
  • decorated gifts
  • did problem solving in Maths
  • had Japanese
  • caught up with our buddies

I think we will all sleep well tonight. I know I will…….

Term 4 Weeks 7 and 8

Jolly Grammar – We have finished off the year with some tricky sounds; ur and au (or). We have also looked at question marks and question words.

  • La Befana – Italian gift bringer
  • German Christmas traditions – Thanks to EB’s grandpa.

Concert – We have spent a lot of time learning our song over the past month. The children did an outstanding performance!!

Thanks – A huge thanks to those dedicated parents who come in even ever they are needed to help out. It was a massive job sorting the readers and gluing our artwork into the WOW books.

Shared lunch for rooms13, 14 and 15 is Monday 12-1pm. Boys savoury and girls sweets. No lunch orders.

Bags – 2 bags need to be sent along on Monday to send books etc home in.

Readers– We still need a few boxes sorted Monday morning if you are available.

Dismissal on Friday at 2:10.

Apologises….

Sorry for not posting the weeks 7 and 8 News. I had typed it up in word and saved it, ready to post after school, so I could add a comment about our “meet the teacher session”.

I was so tired at 4:30 that I went home forgetting to post it. Will put it on the blog Monday morning.

“Meet the teacher” went smoothly. All children seemed to come back very excited.

Reports and a letter about 2018 classes are in their bags tonight.

Enjoy the weekend.
