Term 3 Week 1 News

Jolly Grammar – This week we have looked at the wh sound where the h is silent. We made white whales and learnt where they live and what they eat. We also looked at the doubling rule or past tense verbs eg hop, hopped.
Maths- We continued with shapes, looking at 3D shapes. As a group task we made a model of Rosie’s farmyard using 3D shapes. Come in and have a look at them!!
Writing- We used our question words when, where, what and why to write a holiday recount.
Health – On Thursday Christina came and spoke to us about being “Streetsmart”. We learnt lots of interesting safety facts.
• Up to 10 years of age you need to hold an adults hand crossing the road
• 145cm when you don’t need a booster seat
• A zebra crossing is actually called a wombat crossing
• Use the safety door
• Our school has an emu crossing
Australian animals – For the next couple of weeks we’ll be doing a mini inquiry about Aust animals as we have been asked to make something to send to our sister school in Japan.
Theatre notice came home on Tuesday and needs to be paid by Monday 7th August. Thanks to those who have already paid.
Nature Play will be happening in week 3 and 7 this term. We will be working with O3, Ms Coutt’s Receptions.
Towel roster is up by the door for the next two terms.
