Reminder no school tomorrow!
Jolly Grammar – This week we looked at words with the ew as in ue or oo sound. We read Wombat Stew. We also looked at final blends in words eg …mp,…st. We had fun finding compound words too.
Maths – We finished our unit on fractions. Also this week our class did the PAT M maths test which year 1s across the state all do. The children did an amazing job! JL commented how much fun it was. Next week we will be doing the PAT R reading comprehension test.
Health – We discussed our private parts and the importance of using the correct words for them. We had a very mature discussion. The children behaved sensibly and respectfully.
Science – This week we made lanterns in playful learning.
Nature Play is happening next week. So please send along coats and boots.
Student Led conferences are coming up. A note was sent home explaining the online booking system. We will have up to four families in the room at any one time. Each session is allocated 30 minutes, but you don’t have to stay for the while time if your child has finished sharing about their learning.
Sports day is also coming up. The special sushi and subway lunch orders are due in by the 13th Sept.
Next week Kathy will be at a PD training day on Wednesday about Literacy for Learning. Katie Magarey will be in room 13 for the day. On Friday Kathy has leave and Dawn Drewer will be in. Nature Play will be happening on both of these days.
